YouTube Shorts hook generator
A hook is the first line of your Short, the sentence that decides whether people keep watching. Type your topic, who it is for and the result you show, pick hook types, and get up to 20 opening lines filled in from 63 templates. It is a template bank, not AI: the same words always give the same lines.

How it works and how to use the hooks
Each template is a common opening shape: lead with the result, name a mistake, give a number, disagree with the usual advice, start in the middle of a story, ask a question, show before and after, put the viewer in a POV, or warn them. The generator drops your words into those shapes. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Pick two or three lines that are true to what the video actually shows. A hook that promises something the video does not deliver gets swiped away and reads as bait. Say the line in the first second and put it on screen as text too; the first three seconds explains why.
The best test is what already worked in your topic. Look at the openings of videos that beat their own channel, then adapt one of these lines to the same shape. More patterns and examples are in YouTube Shorts hooks.
Questions
- What is a good hook for YouTube Shorts?
- One clear sentence that tells the viewer what they get and why to stay, said in the first second and shown as on-screen text. It has to match the video: the result, mistake or story you promise must actually be in it.
- How long should a Shorts hook be?
- Aim for one sentence you can say in a single breath. If it needs a second sentence, the second one should raise the stakes, not explain the first.
- Does this hook generator use AI?
- No. It fills your topic, audience and result into a fixed bank of 63 templates in your browser. The same inputs always give the same lines, and nothing you type is sent to a server.
- Can I use these hooks for TikTok and Reels?
- Yes. The lines are plain text and the opening shapes are the same on every short-video app. Only the data behind Creativital is YouTube; the words are yours to use anywhere.
- How do I know which hook will work?
- You can't know in advance, and no tool can promise views. What helps is copying the shape of openings that already beat their channel in your topic. The free check scores a Short and shows its real multiplier.
